Environmental Impact
At Scolarest we strongly believe we all need to consider and address our impact on the world we live in.
We have developed a common set of standards and targets to continually measure our environmental impact.
Wherever possible we make sure our teams and suppliers recycle as much waste as possible.
We are working further with our suppliers to ensure their enviromental impact is minimal, 40% of our suppliers’ fleets now operate on bio-fuels.
We’ve also made great strides in consolidating our distribution network, with the number of deliveries to our sites reducing to just two to three per week.
Where we can we involve schools and students in our environmental initiatives. Scolarest has created a programme in several schools which has seen designated pupil representatives bringing materials to a central recycling point, followed up with a poster competition to bring home the environmental message.
Scolarest has also reviewed its use of items such as packaging and disposable cutlery to ensure that, where possible, such items are sustainably sourced and biodegradable.
