We know that the purchasing decisions we make have implications for food production, sustainability and the environment in the wider community. 

We take these responsibilities very seriously and have the commitment and capabilities to make a difference to the lives of our people and society generally.

The Scolarest team works alongside expert buyers and supply chain managers from its parent company, Compass Group, to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients and consumers.

The Compass purchasing and supply team manages our relationships with suppliers, ensuring that we maintain our advantage and develop our understanding of important issues and opportunites.

One of those issues we are looking closely at is rising food inflation. Scolarest is mitigating the impact of food inflation by:

• Ensuring our teams use only approved suppliers so we can manage spend

• Offering an end to end solution, which is flexible enough to adapt to changing
 market conditions whilst at the same time providing a sustainably sourced product from a local supplier in a clients region

• Spending time and resource looking at what categories are experiencing the most inflation and engaging our business in reviewing plans and limiting exposure

• As part of a global business, working closely with our colleagues in other countries to take advantage of supplier relationships that can be leveraged internationally

• Most importantly, continually talking to our consumers

Together we ensure we can provide safe, high quality, locally sourced food for our clients and consumers while managing our impact on the environment.
